Date:

Netflix’s much-anticipated live-action Scooby-Doo! series is getting closer to production, with an updated filming schedule. The show, which will feature a young cast for the iconic roles of Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Velma, is a joint production from Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and Midnight Radio. Showrunners Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are leading the project.
The storyline will focus on the gang during their last summer at camp, where they encounter a lonely Great Dane puppy. The dog becomes the sole witness to a mysterious supernatural murder, pulling the teens into a terrifying investigation. The official logline promises a modern reimagining that combines mystery, friendship, and supernatural suspense.
The series is slated for eight one-hour episodes. Its current working title is Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series. Filming, which was initially expected to begin in the fall of 2025, has been pushed back. The new target for the start of production is early 2026.
This new adaptation aims to be a fresh take on the beloved cartoon, blending nostalgic elements with a contemporary plot. The focus on the gang’s origins and a supernatural murder mystery is a new direction for the franchise. Fans are eagerly awaiting casting announcements, especially for the young Great Dane who will play Scooby.
