INDIANAPOLIS – In response to deteriorating air conditions caused by widespread wildfires across North America, Carrier has initiated a comprehensive indoor air quality program aimed at mitigating health risks associated with airborne pollutants.
The U.S. and Canadian populations face increasing exposure to particulate matter, which can exacerbate respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Carrier recommends immediate implementation of protective measures, including the use of high-efficiency HVAC filtration systems, structural sealing to prevent smoke infiltration, and deployment of HEPA-equipped portable air purifiers.
Nick Arch, Vice President and General Manager of Residential Solutions at Carrier, stated, “Indoor environments are not immune to the hazards of wildfire smoke. Our technologies are engineered to safeguard air quality and promote public health.”
Carrier’s product suite includes advanced filtration and purification systems. As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, the company recently donated $2.5 million worth of air purifiers to frontline personnel and educational institutions in Los Angeles.
