Putin: Russia and China United Against ‘Discriminatory’ Economic Pressure

Date:

President Vladimir Putin has affirmed that Russia and China stand “united” against what he describes as “discriminatory” economic pressure from the West. This common front against sanctions is a defining feature of their partnership and a central theme ahead of the SCO Summit in Tianjin.
Putin explained that their shared stance is not just a reaction to policies affecting them directly, but is based on the principle that such sanctions harm the global economy and hinder the development of many nations, particularly within the BRICS framework.
This political unity is reinforced by deep and growing economic ties. Putin pointed to the massive increase in bilateral trade and the strategic decision to settle transactions in their national currencies as evidence of their commitment to building an economic system resilient to external coercion.
At the SCO summit, this message of unity will be broadcast to a wider audience. Putin aims to rally other member states to a common cause: the creation of a global order where economic relationships are not weaponized and where all nations have an equal opportunity to develop.
