In a bid to enhance ties between Vietnam and Germany, Bodo Ramelow spearheaded a German delegation’s visit to Da Nang. The visit focused on exploring avenues for bolstering collaboration across various sectors between the Vietnamese city and its German counterparts. Key discussions with local authorities centered on reviewing existing socio-economic partnerships and identifying new opportunities in education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.

Da Nang’s officials have shown a keen interest in expanding their partnerships with regions and institutions in Germany, particularly emphasizing the importance of human resource development, vocational education, and German language training. The city is also keen on attracting more German investment in high-tech industries such as semiconductor production, renewable energy, and digital transformation, aligning with their goals for a green economy.

Ramelow underscored vocational education as a promising field for enhanced cooperation, suggesting the creation of joint training programs that would enable graduates to receive qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. His discussions included support for strengthening business relations and exploring new investment opportunities that could benefit both regions.

Germany holds a significant place as one of Da Nang’s principal European partners, with collaboration extending across trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchanges. The visit served to reaffirm the commitment of both parties to deepen economic and institutional ties, promoting a future of more robust and diversified partnerships.
