National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyễn Đức Hải met with Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, President of the World University Service (WUS) of Germany and representative of the State of Hessen, to discuss expanding cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. The meeting underscored Vietnam’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Germany, particularly through collaboration with Hessen.
Hải praised Ghawami’s longstanding contributions to fostering friendship and cooperation across education, governance, and development. He highlighted population policy as a key focus area for Vietnam’s legislature, emphasizing the need to develop a young, skilled workforce to sustain economic growth.
Both sides discussed promoting collaboration in education, training, and digital transformation. Hải suggested increased knowledge sharing between the two parliaments, joint projects for the upcoming 80th anniversary of Hessen, and support for advancing initiatives such as the Vietnam–Germany University and e-parliament development.
Dr. Ghawami reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening bilateral cooperation, expressing confidence that ties between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Germany, including Hessen, will continue to flourish through active engagement and shared initiatives.
