At the IFA Berlin 2026, Singapore’s health tech company Actxa unveiled its latest innovation, the Spark Band, a screenless wearable designed to track various health metrics. This wristband combines features such as sleep, recovery, heart health, activity, and fitness tracking with Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology. The device is powered by BGEM technology, enabling an AI Glucose Snapshot that provides an estimated glucose range along with an indicative value within that range in approximately one minute. This feature is intended for general wellness and awareness rather than for medical diagnosis or treatment purposes.
The Spark Band allows users to take glucose snapshots at different times of the day, including around meals, to help them identify glucose-related patterns over time. Actxa emphasizes that this approach encourages users to observe trends in conjunction with other health and lifestyle information rather than focusing solely on individual readings. In addition to glucose awareness, the device tracks various health indicators through the Actxa app, including sleep stages, sleep scores, and overnight signals. The recovery function of the app compares sleep HRV with the user’s personal seven-day baseline and provides a 30-day recovery trend. For those focused on fitness, the band monitors movement, intensity minutes and supplies details on workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age.
Designed with a screenless interface to minimize notifications and distractions, the Spark Band uses LED and vibration alerts for various functions, such as notifying users when they reach their selected training zone, movement reminders, and wake-up alarms. The device, which weighs approximately 22 grams, boasts up to 14 days of battery life and features a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap. It comes with an IP68 rating for water resistance and can store up to seven days of data before syncing with the Actxa app. Connectivity is facilitated through Bluetooth Low Energy, and it is compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later. Notably, the Spark Band does not require a monthly subscription or service fee.
Scheduled for pre-orders beginning September 24, 2026, the Spark Band will be priced at SGD 199 or USD 149. The official launch and fulfillment are set for November 18, 2026, with availability in select markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa plans to offer promotional discounts during the pre-order period, including a 40% early-bird offer from September 24 to October 31, followed by a 20% discount from November 1 to 17. A 10% launch offer will be available for a limited time post-launch.
Founded in 2015, Actxa Pte Ltd focuses on health and wellness technology, developing wearable devices and proprietary technologies for personal health tracking. The company’s technology portfolio includes BGEM, described as an AI-based system for non-invasive glucose awareness aimed at general wellness applications. They advise that the AI Glucose Snapshot is not intended for diagnosing, treating, monitoring, or managing diabetes or any other medical condition. Battery performance may vary depending on usage, and water resistance may decrease over time with regular wear and tear.
